Salida sonido hdmi linux mint

all,

I recently bought a HDMI cable and was intended to connect to my TV in order to see my movies, etc.

output the image to the TV works perfectly, but as the sound we encounter a difficulty and it's like to get the sound of the laptop to the TV so you do not have to hear what we're looking for speakers notebook.

solution is very simple, first we have to select hdmi output device we have, we go to the speaker that we have down on the taskbar of our system and "Hardware" / "Settings for the selected device" select our HDMI ouput in my case (I have an NVIDIA sound card) is "STEREO DIGITAL (HDMI) ouput.

The second thing to do is install (but what we have) the gnome-alsamixer, let's do this since the send hdmi output through ALSA, after having installed the package, we and the application will ensure that everything is active in terms of volume, ie there is no need to mute or "mute."

And finally, our favorite player (in my case is VLC mediaplayer) we go to the tab preferences / audio and say we want the audio out through ALSA.

I hope you have served and if you have any questions, comment that you gladly help you out.

A greeting and thank you very much.
